Urban Garden

What is the inspiration for your design?
A definition of simplicity and fancy, both in one bathroom. The bathroom is designed to allow user to experience different mood in one place. The simplicity of the design comes from the material used in the basin and toilet, which is mostly lighter shades. On the other hand, the bath area uses vibrant colors from the mosaic wall to give an entirely different mood for the user. Hanging and pots of plants are added to the design, It greatly improves air quality in the bathroom and absorbs excess moisture and fends off bacteria, but most importantly, it reduces stress, anxiety, and increases energy levels, making it the perfect accompaniment to bath time. Particularly, during this pandemic, everyone is working from home and there are increase stress and anxiety. The design of Urban Garden can help users to start their day right and end their day well.

Who is the target user and how does the design fulfill the need of the target user?
Urban Garden is designed to target young families with young kids between ages of 4 to 8. The mosaic wall tile throughout the bath area if the bathroom brings a pop of color and adjusts to the needs of young children. In addition to relaxing the adults, the darker color of the mosaic tiles contrasts with the white tiles in the basin area. Bathing and showering become a relaxing experience with these tiles. Additionally, there is enough storage space for the family to store their toiletries and toilet necessities. The wall tiles have a glossy finish, which makes cleaning very easy and prevents stains from forming as cleaning the bathroom might be difficult if there are children around.

How does the design fulfill the theme for the chosen category?
As more and more people move to live in cities, they are competing for limited resources. There are also fewer houses available because of population growth. With my urban garden design, I made maximum use of the bathroom. There is ample storage space underneath the vanity counter for storing toiletries and necessities. In addition to this, there is a built-in storage area for the family to place their shower gel and shampoo, and it's also easy to reach from the tub area. On top of that, the vanity counter is also wall mounted, which allows the family to store additional items below the shelf. The space is thus efficiently utilized.

How does the choice of products contribute to the purpose of the design?
The majority of my products come from the Acacia Evolution Collection. These products fit with the style of my bathroom due to their simplicity. In addition to the soft and thin edges, the collections have a guard against water stains that make clean-up a breeze. It also provides a total hygiene protection, which makes it ideal during this pandemic season.
